Operation and cleaning of Reciprocating Air Compressors.

1.0) OBJECTIVE: 

To describe a procedure for Operation and Cleaning of Reciprocating Air Compressors.

2.0) SCOPE:

This SOP is applicable for Operation and Cleaning of Reciprocating Air Compressors

3.0)  RESPONSIBILITY:

      Assistant Engineer/Above shall be responsible for implementation and compliance of  the SOP.

4.0) ACCOUNTABILITY:

Manager-Engineering / Manager-Production / Head-QA shall be accountable for implementation and compliance the procedure mentioned in this SOP.

5.0) ATTACHMENT:

6.0) PROCEDURE:

6.1       OPERATION:

  • 1.1 Before starting of air compressor ensure cleaning of whole unit.

6.1.2    Check oil level in crankcase from sight glass.

6.1.3    Check pneumatic connectors and pipes for any leakages manually.

6.1.4    Check Non return valve for proper working.

  • Check loading and unloading valve for proper working.
  • Drain water from receiving tank manually.

6.1.7     Switch ON the main supply.

6.1.8     After that switch ON the starter of individual compressor as required.

  • CLEANING:

6.2.1     Before cleaning of the Air compressor, be assure that main supply is switched “OFF”.

6.2.2     Clean all the parts of air compressor by using air gun or cleaned cloth.

6.2.3     Clean the air filters assembly by using air gun. Change the filters if necessary.
