• OBJECTIVE:

To describe a procedure for the operation of Diesel Generator.

• SCOPE:

This SOP is applicable for procedure for the operation of Diesel Generator at

•  RESPONSIBILITY:

      Assistant Engineer/Above shall be responsible for implementation and compliance of the SOP.

• ACCOUNTABILITY:

Manager-Engineering / Manager-Production / Head-QA shall be accountable for implementation      and   compliance the procedure mentioned in this SOP.

Operation Of Diesel Generator                                      – Attachment-I

• PROCEDURE:
  • PRE STARTUP:
    • Open the main door of generator.
    • Check the battery voltage , Coolant level, fuel level.
    • The coolant level and lubricating oil level to be maintained at maximum level.
    • In diesel tank the diesel level should be at least ¾ full.
    • Diesel tank outlet valve should be open.
    • Check the Radiator water level.
  • OPERATION:
    • Turn the two way selector switch in clockwise direction to START the Generator HMI.
    • HMI will show “Generator at rest”
    • Press the keypad buttons to operate the HMI.
    • Wait for HMI until its screen display “Generator available” option.
    • As “Generator available” option appear on display screen , push MCCB in upward direction.
    • Close the main door of generator.
    • Go to main panel room and operate change over switch of Generator Incomer.
• SHUTOFF
  • As the supply from HPSEB is resumed, operate the change over switch of HPSEB incomer and transfer the load to HPSEB incoming supply.
  • Go to generator and open the main door.
  • Push down the MCCB.

Record all the observations in respective attachment of SOP for operation of diesel generator

• Turn the two way selector switch in anticlockwise direction to switch OFF the HMI.
• Close the main door of generator.
