  • OBJECTIVE:

To describe a procedure for the preventive maintenance of Insect-o-cutters.

  • SCOPE:

This SOP is applicable for preventive maintenance of Insect-o-cutters

  • RESPONSIBILITY:

Assistant Engineer/Above shall be responsible for implementation and compliance of  the SOP

  • ACCOUNTABILITY:

Manager – Engineering/ Manager-Production/Head-QA shall be accountable for implementation and compliance of this SOP.

5.0       ATTACHMENT:

Preventive Maintenance Checklist of Insect-o-cutters                                               -Attachment-I

  • PROCEDURE:
    • Preparation of preventive maintenance plan:
      • Ensure that the respective system is Switch “OFF”
      • Before carrying out the preventive maintenance display status board as “UNDER PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE” on the electrical panel and machine.
    • FREQUENCY:
      • Half Yearly
    • CHECKLIST:

6.3.1   Clean Insect-O-cutter and tray with air blower and dry cloth.

6.3.2   Check blue lint tube for proper working.

  • Check and ensure the power supply for the insect-o-cutter and its proper functioning.
  • Check and ensure the earthing of insect-o-cutter.
  • Check for the working hours of the insect-o-cutter light, if exceeds 7500 working hours, replace with the new.
  • Check and ensure the functioning of tube choke/electronic ballast.
  • Check and ensure the functioning of tube light starter.
  • Check all electrical terminals for tightness.
  • After completion of the above procedure remove the “UNDER PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE” status board from the machine and the respective electrical panel.
  • Affix the Preventive Maintenance Status on machine as per Attachment – I of SOP/EN/003.
  • Update the status label of the machine after the completion of preventive maintenance.
  • After performing the preventive maintenance activity of machine, respective area supervisor shall

check and note the details on respective Equipment Sequential Log Book.

6.7       Junior Engineer/ above shall record the activity in respective attachment of SOP for Preventive      Maintenance of Insect-o-cutters. (SOP/EN/079).
